This weekend I held a golf tournament at my local golf course in St Boswells in aid of my year in Malaysia. After a few scares by the weather forecast the day did go to plan and an amazing £476.61 profit was made. 40 golfers took to the course and played a Texas scramble (I still don't know what that entails) while my friends and I handed out some refreshments on our buggy's! This was followed by some sandwiches, good conversation, a raffle and my homemade tray-bake in the clubhouse. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and it was a very close competition with deserved winners. Pictures of the day follow...

At the very start of my fundraising journey I handed out smarties tubes to my friends and family to fill with 20p coins. Recently I have been getting a lot back so decided to count them and the total came to around £230!! It's amazing how such a small, effortless idea can bring in so much money. As well as this many trusts have been getting back to me and I have even attended interviews to see whether trusts are willing to donate.
So thank you again to these trusts and businesses for their generosity:
Kirsten Scott Memorial Trust
BSW Timber
The Provincial Grand Lodge of Roxburgh, Peebles and Selkirk shires
Landale Charitable Trust
Sir James Miller Edinburgh Trust
Earl of Mar and Kellie Charitable Trust
I am very close to my final target which means Malaysia is becoming so real and exciting now!

ReplyDeleteAnd your Dad was in the winning team....there's a surprise?
ReplyDeleteSeriously though, it was not the weather for a golf tournament, so well done to all that took part.
